The 2007 Nissan Versa has 14 recalls, the most serious being a Takata airbag defect affecting both the driver and passenger frontal airbags, where the inflator can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.
Both the driver and passenger side airbag inflators are subject to this defect, which represents multiple recall filings covering the same underlying problem. A separate airbag concern involves the passenger seat's occupant detection sensor, where damaged wiring can cause the system to stop working, suppressing the passenger airbag in a crash without warning. On the suspension side, front coil springs can crack and corrode over time, and if a spring fractures it may press against the tire and puncture it. There is also an electrical concern: the daytime running light relays can fail and leave one or both front lights dark during driving. The remaining recalls are labeling and compliance issues, including an odometer calibrated in miles instead of kilometres on CVT-equipped vehicles and a brake fluid reservoir cap missing part of its required warning text.
