2026 Ram 4500

The 2026 RAM 4500 has 4 recalls, the most serious involving a trailer tow module that can cause trailer brake lights and turn signals to go dark and trailer brakes to stop working entirely while towing.

The instrument panel has two separate software faults worth knowing about. One can cause the entire display to go blank, taking with it the gear selector indicator and any active warning lights. The other produces a similar result through a different software path, again leaving the driver without critical readouts. Both can remove the information a driver needs to respond to a developing problem. There is also a compliance issue with the brake warning light specifically: the instrument panel can display an incorrect brake system warning, meaning a real brake problem might not trigger the right alert, or a false warning could appear when nothing is wrong.
