The 2025 RAM 4500 has 7 recalls, the most serious being a software fault in the occupant restraint controller that can shut the module off while driving, disabling airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, and electronic stability control.
When the restraint controller goes offline, the vehicle loses crash protection and stability management simultaneously, raising the risk of both a crash and greater injury if one occurs. A separate recall covers the trailer tow module, which can cause trailer lights, including brake lights and turn signals, to go dark and trailer brakes to stop working, reducing visibility and stopping ability for vehicles towing a load. Several recalls address the instrument panel cluster going blank, either at startup or while driving, leaving the driver without gear selection readouts, warning lights, and other critical information. Some of these instrument panel recalls are specific to vehicles equipped with either a 3.5-inch or 12-inch cluster display.
