The 2024 Rivian R1T has 6 recalls, the most serious involving the front and second-row seatbelt systems, where mounting bolts and retractor fasteners may not be properly secured, reducing the belt's ability to restrain occupants in a crash.
A separate occupant safety concern involves attachment clips on the B-pillar and C-pillar trim panels, which may have been damaged during prior service work; if those clips fail, the side curtain airbags may not deploy correctly in a crash. The dashboard airbag warning label may also be missing on some vehicles, leaving front-seat occupants without guidance on child and infant safety near the airbag. On the lighting side, headlights on certain vehicles may be aimed too low or off-angle, reducing how far ahead the road is lit at night. There is also a suspension concern affecting vehicles that have had prior service: the toe link, which helps position the rear wheel, may have been reassembled incorrectly and can separate from its joint, reducing steering control.
