The 2011 Saab 9-3 has 5 recalls, the most serious being a driver's frontal airbag inflator that can rupture during deployment and send metal fragments into the cabin, posing a serious injury risk to the driver and other occupants.
Three recalls cover fuel pump failures, including both factory-installed and certain aftermarket replacement pumps: the fuel pump can seize, cutting off fuel flow and stalling the engine while driving. This recall only affects certain vehicles manufactured between June and December 2010. There is also a seatbelt concern limited to Convertible models: the driver's side front seatbelt retractor can break and leave the belt webbing hanging loose, meaning it may not hold the driver in place in a crash.
