The 1992 Saab 9000 has 4 recalls, the most serious being two separate fire risks: fuel tank rubber hoses that can crack and leak fuel near an ignition source, and an oil cooler hose or housing that can break and drip oil onto a hot exhaust manifold or turbocharger. A safety restraint concern also exists: moisture can corrode the airbag control module's circuit board, which in extreme cases can cause the airbag or seatbelt pretensioner to deploy without warning. On the brake side, vehicles equipped with the MkII ABS system can allow moisture to travel along the wiring to the pressure warning switch, corroding the terminal connection and potentially causing loss of power-assisted braking.
