The 2024 Tesla Model X has 9 recalls, the most serious being a hood latch that may not detect when the hood is unlatched, allowing it to fly open while driving and blocking the driver's view.
Several recalls involve airbags. The driver's airbag can tear during deployment and fail to protect the occupant in a crash. On vehicles where the steering yoke or wheel was replaced, an incompatible airbag may have been installed and can deploy incorrectly. A separate issue involves an airbag assembly fitted with the wrong horn pad, which prevents the horn from sounding.
On the visibility side, a circuit board in the display system can short and cause the rearview camera to go blank while backing up. Headlights and parking lights on certain vehicles can also flicker, reducing road illumination at night.
Two compliance-related issues round out the list: brake, park, and ABS warning lights on the instrument panel may display in a font too small to read clearly, and the seatbelt warning light and chime may not activate when the driver is unbelted.
