The airbag inflator issue spans multiple filings, but the core danger is the same across all of them: the front passenger airbag inflator can explode beyond its designed limits and scatter sharp metal shrapnel toward the driver and passengers. These recalls apply to vehicles originally sold or registered in high-humidity states and territories, including Florida, Texas, Hawaii, and similar climates, where prolonged moisture exposure makes the inflator more prone to failure. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue for all affected vehicles, which is why multiple rounds of filings exist for what is essentially the same defect.

The remaining recall involves the driver's power window switch. Moisture and debris can work their way into the switch contacts if the internal lubricant has dried out or is absent, causing a short circuit. When that happens, the switch assembly can overheat and melt, creating a burn or fire risk at the door panel. Owners may notice unusual heat, a burning smell near the door, or a window that stops responding before any visible damage appears.
