The 2013 Toyota Prius has 2 recalls, both involving the inverter's Intelligent Power Module, which can fail and cause the hybrid system to shut down, stalling the vehicle while driving and raising the risk of a crash. In less severe cases, heat damage to transistors inside the module may instead trigger a reduced-power mode that significantly limits how the vehicle drives, rather than causing a full stall.
