The 2019 Triumph Speed Twin has 3 recalls, the most serious involving a coolant hose that can contact the exhaust pipe, wear through, and drip coolant onto the rear tire, reducing traction and raising the risk of a crash.
The remaining two recalls both affect the gear shifting system. The shift lever can work loose or its linkage can separate from the ball joint entirely, leaving the rider unable to change gears. Whether the lever gradually loses its feel or disconnects completely, the result is the same: the transmission stays locked in whatever gear it was in, removing the rider's ability to accelerate or engine-brake through traffic.
