The 2016 Volvo S60 has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the automatic stop/start system, where a blown starter fuse can leave the car unable to restart mid-traffic, raising the risk of a crash.
Two recalls affect the front passenger seatbelt buckle: the attaching stud can loosen or separate from its bracket, meaning the belt may not hold the passenger in a crash. There is also a separate concern where the buckle stud was not correctly formed during manufacturing, which can cause the buckle to pull away from the bracket under crash loads. These represent related but distinct manufacturing issues with the same seatbelt anchor point. On the door side, a component inside the door latch can break and cause a door to appear closed while not fully latched, leaving it able to swing open while driving.
