The 2017 Volvo S60 has 5 recalls, the most serious being side airbags that may fail to deploy in a crash, leaving occupants without that layer of protection in a side impact.
Two of the recalls involve front seatbelt hardware. In one, the front passenger seatbelt buckle's attaching stud can loosen and allow the buckle to fully separate from its bracket, meaning the belt cannot hold the passenger in a crash. The other involves a front seatbelt component that can leave an occupant unsecured in a collision. There is also a door latch concern: a component inside the latch can break, making it possible for a door to appear closed when it is not, and a door that is not fully latched can swing open while the vehicle is moving.
