The 2019 Volvo S60 has 6 recalls, the most serious involving rear suspension toe links that can detach and cause a sudden, unpredictable change in handling while also disabling the electronic stability control system.
The front passenger airbag has two separate issues worth noting: loose mounting bolts on certain vehicles can prevent it from inflating properly in a crash, and a separate fastening concern on others can cause it to deploy incorrectly. Both raise the risk of injury in a collision. On the drivetrain side, the low-pressure fuel pump can blow a fuse and fail without warning, stalling the engine in traffic. There is also a software and hardware incompatibility that can prevent the automatic emergency braking system from detecting obstacles and engaging, meaning the system may not intervene in a potential collision the way the driver expects.
