The 2021 Volvo S60 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the plug-in hybrid's high-voltage battery, which can short circuit while fully charged and parked, raising the risk of a fire.
The other two recalls affect occupant protection. The front passenger airbag may not be properly secured in its housing, which can cause it to deploy incorrectly in a crash and fail to protect the occupant as intended. On the seatbelt side, the rear seat belt automatic locking retractors can deactivate too early when a child seat is installed, preventing the restraint from staying firmly anchored and leaving the child seat loose in a collision.
