The 2021 Volvo S60 has 3 recalls, the most serious being a high-voltage battery defect on plug-in hybrid models where a short circuit can develop while the car is parked and fully charged, raising the risk of fire.
Two other safety equipment concerns round out the list. The front passenger airbag may not be properly secured in its housing, causing it to deploy incorrectly in a crash and raising the risk of injury to the front passenger. The rear seatbelt automatic locking retractors can deactivate earlier than intended, which prevents a child safety seat from staying firmly in place and leaves a child less protected in a crash.
