The 2019 Volvo S90 has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the low-pressure fuel pump, which can blow a fuse and stall the engine while driving, raising the risk of a crash.
On the safety equipment side, front seat rail mounting nuts may be missing from the driver and passenger seats, meaning the seat structure can shift in a crash and increase the risk of injury. The automatic emergency braking system may also fail to detect obstacles and engage, removing a key layer of crash protection. Two additional recalls involve vehicle electronics: on cars equipped with the 360-degree park assist camera, a software fault can cause the top-view camera image to appear instead of the rearview camera when reversing, reducing the driver's view behind the vehicle. A separate software error in the vehicle's connectivity module can prevent accurate GPS location from being sent to emergency services during a crash, potentially slowing the response.
