Two recalls address the same diesel particulate filter issue: a software error disables the driver's ability to stop or pause a filter regeneration cycle, meaning the high-heat process can continue even when the truck is parked somewhere flammable, creating a fire risk. There is also a hood concern where the hydraulic cylinders that hold the hood open lack adequate dampening, allowing the hood to fly open too forcefully and potentially separate from its support cylinders, leaving the hood uncontrolled and posing an injury risk to anyone nearby.
