The 2014 Volvo VNM has 4 recalls, the most serious being two fire risks: a trailer hand brake that can stick in the applied position and overheat the wheel end, and an engine crankcase vent tube that can detach and spray oil onto hot engine surfaces.
Two additional brake recalls round out the list. A disc brake caliper can detach from its backing plate if the mounting bolts were not tightened to the correct torque, causing the truck to pull sharply to one side and raising the risk of a crash. Separately, incorrect software controlling the electronic air dryer can allow oil and water to contaminate the air brake system, reducing braking performance.
