2020 VOLVO XC40 Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2020 Volvo XC40 has two recalls, the more serious being a brake failure risk on the battery-electric version where coasting downhill in "B" mode or One Pedal Drive can result in complete loss of braking. The second recall affects a much broader range of XC40 trim levels and covers the automatic emergency braking system, which due to a software and hardware incompatibility may fail to detect obstacles and engage when needed, leaving the driver without that safety net in potential collision situations.
