The 2018 Audi A3 Cabriolet has 5 recalls, the most serious being a fuel hose connector that can detach from the supply line in the engine bay, spilling fuel near hot components and raising the risk of an engine fire.
Two recalls involve the rear seat head restraints: on certain vehicles, the guide sleeves that hold the restraints in place may be incorrectly welded to the seat frame, reducing restraint stability in a crash, and the latching pins for the center rear head restraint may be missing entirely, allowing it to detach and strike occupants. The passenger seat occupant detection system can also develop a false fault and shut off the front passenger airbag, leaving that seat without airbag protection in a crash. On the engine side, a software issue in the engine control unit can misread flywheel movement at startup as an engine knock, causing the engine to adjust its fuel mixture and stall.
