The 2022 Audi A4 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving an engine control unit where an internal component can short-circuit, causing the engine to stall without warning while driving.
The remaining two recalls both affect rear visibility. A software error can prevent the rearview camera image from appearing at all when the vehicle is first shifted into reverse, leaving the driver without a rear view at the moment it is most needed. A separate issue can cause the touchscreen display itself to go inoperative, which also cuts off the rearview camera feed. Both conditions reduce the driver's ability to see obstacles or pedestrians behind the vehicle when backing up.
