The 2013 Audi A6 has 6 recalls, the most serious being three separate fire risks: a degrading fuel hose in the engine compartment, a fuel line that can weaken and leak, and an electric coolant pump that can overheat.
The two fuel leak issues both create fire risk if fuel contacts an ignition source. The coolant pump concern only affects vehicles with the 2.0L Turbo FSI engine, where debris can block the pump and cause it to overheat to the point of catching fire. There are also two recalls involving the front passenger seat sensor that detects whether the seat is occupied by an adult or a child. In both cases, the sensor can malfunction and cause the front passenger airbag to not deploy correctly in a crash, raising the risk of injury to that occupant. One of these involves wear or stress to the sensing mat inside the seat cushion itself.
