The 2019 Audi Q8 has 6 recalls, the most serious involving two separate issues that can cut engine power or eliminate steering control while driving, both of which raise the risk of a crash.
On the fuel side, the fuel delivery module inside the tank can fail and cause the engine to run rough, refuse to start, or cut out suddenly while moving. A separate fuel pump recall covers a component inside the pump that can break and stall the engine. The steering concern involves a bolt connecting the steering shaft to the steering gear that can loosen and cause a sudden loss of steering control. On the suspension side, the front shock absorber forks can develop cracks that allow the shock absorbers to loosen, which impairs steering feel and handling. Two software recalls round out the list: a lane departure warning system that may be silently deactivated, leaving the driver relying on a system that is not working, and a rearview camera that may fail to display an image when reversing.
