The 2022 Audi S5 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving a tire defect where the tread can separate from the belt, causing a sudden tire failure and potential loss of vehicle control.
This recall only affects tires with specific date codes stamped on the sidewall, so not every S5 is involved. The remaining two recalls both affect rear visibility: on certain vehicles, the rearview camera display can stop working entirely, leaving the driver without any view of what is behind them while backing up, and on others a software error causes the camera image to fail to appear at all when reverse is first engaged, with the screen remaining blank until some point after the vehicle has already begun moving. Both conditions reduce the driver's awareness of pedestrians, other vehicles, or obstacles directly behind the car. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the camera display issue across the affected lineup, which is why two separate campaigns address what is effectively the same backing visibility problem.
