2014 BMW 435i

The 2014 BMW 435i has 4 recalls, the most serious being multiple airbag inflator defects where a rupturing inflator can send sharp metal fragments into the cabin or out of the vehicle, raising the risk of serious injury or death.

Three of the four recalls involve airbag inflators across different parts of the system. Two affect side and head airbags, where the inflator can fail at a weld joint and either leak gas or rupture outright, scattering metal fragments. The third affects the driver's front airbag, where an inflator explosion can send fragments directly toward the driver or other occupants. While these are filed as separate recalls, they all carry the same core risk: an airbag that is meant to protect occupants in a crash can instead become a source of injury when it deploys.

The fourth recall covers the fuel pump, which can fail without warning and cause the engine to stall while driving. A sudden stall at speed removes power steering and brake assist and gives the driver little time to react, increasing the chance of a crash.
