The 2015 BMW 740LD has 3 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk tied to the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) module, where a failing cooler can cause the intake manifold to melt and potentially ignite.
The EGR issue affects the diesel engine's emissions system: when the integrated cooler in the EGR module fails, heat builds up and can melt the plastic intake manifold, creating conditions where a fire can start in the engine bay. The third recall covers the high-pressure fuel pump, which can fail without warning and cut fuel delivery to the engine, causing a stall at speed and raising the risk of a crash with other traffic.
