The 2023 BMW X1 has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the integrated brake system, where a motor failure can reduce braking power, disable rear hydraulic brakes, and cause ABS and stability control to stop working, extending stopping distances and raising the risk of a crash. The remaining recalls involve occupant restraint. The second-row outboard seatbelts on certain vehicles may have been pinched by an interior trim panel during assembly, which can prevent them from working properly in a crash.
