2008 BUELL 1125R Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2008 Buell 1125R has two recalls, both carrying serious crash risk: one where the front brake line can rub against the tire, wear through, and leak fluid until the front brake stops working, and one where a fifth gear can seize to the clutch shaft and lock the rear wheel. The brake line issue develops gradually as the line contacts the rotating front tire, eventually wearing a hole that bleeds fluid from the system. The powertrain concern involves insufficient lubrication on the fifth gear, which can cause it to gall and fuse to the shaft, producing an abrupt rear wheel lockup at speed.
