2024 Chevrolet Blazer

The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer has 5 recalls, the most serious being a front suspension defect on EV models where the right front lower control arm can fracture and cause sudden loss of steering control.

Two of these recalls apply only to the Blazer EV. The fractured control arm concern is joined by a separate drivetrain issue where wires inside the rear electric drive unit lack sufficient insulation, allowing them to contact each other and cut power to the rear motors without warning, leaving the driver with reduced or no propulsion. On the parking brake side, the rear parking brake wiring harness can corrode or sustain damage, leading to two distinct problems: the parking brake can engage on its own while driving, creating an abrupt deceleration, or it can fail to hold the vehicle when parked, allowing it to roll away. A prior repair attempt under an earlier recall did not fully resolve this wiring issue for some vehicles, which is why a follow-up recall covers those affected trucks separately. Finally, a structural concern applies to both Blazer and Blazer EV models: door strikers can fracture, allowing a door to swing open while the vehicle is moving and exposing occupants to a fall or collision risk.
