Certain vehicles equipped with Hankook tires face a separate crash risk: the tire tread can separate from the belt while driving, causing sudden loss of vehicle control. In one, a weld in the power tilt-adjustment mechanism of the seat cushion frame can be faulty, meaning the seat may not hold the driver properly in a crash. In the other, a bolt at the seat frame's height-adjust pivot can be loose or missing entirely, again leaving the seat unable to restrain the driver as intended in a collision.
