The 2014 Chevrolet Express has 5 recalls, the most serious affecting compressed natural gas (CNG) models, where the high-pressure fuel regulator can leak natural gas and create a fire or explosion risk if an ignition source is nearby.
Two other recalls also carry fire risk. The driver's power window switch can corrode if liquid gets inside, raising electrical resistance to the point where a fire can start. On CNG-equipped models, there is also a labeling issue where fuel tank inspection text does not meet required size standards, which can interfere with safe refueling practices. A separate recall covers certain fire extinguishers that may not function properly when needed. Finally, some vehicles with a 159-inch wheelbase were shipped to final-stage manufacturers without a tire pressure monitoring system installed, meaning the driver would receive no warning if a tire became dangerously underinflated.
