The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 has 7 recalls, with the most serious being roof rail airbags that can rupture or shed an end cap, sending metal fragments or pressurized hardware into the cabin during a crash.
These airbag recalls apply to Crew Cab configurations. On the fuel side, trucks equipped with the dual fuel tank option have a rear tank that can collapse and cut off fuel flow to the front tank, stalling the engine without warning. Two separate recalls address the optional engine block heater on Duramax 6.6-liter diesel models: the heater cable or its connection terminals can develop an electrical short, raising the risk of an engine fire. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve this heater issue, which is why it appears across more than one filing.
