The 2005 Chrysler 300 has 4 recalls, the most serious involving the driver and front passenger airbag inflators, which can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.
Both the driver and passenger frontal airbag inflators are affected by this issue, and prior repair attempts may not have fully resolved it for all vehicles. On the structural side, a spot weld on the rear floor pan reinforcement may be missing, which can allow rear seatbelt anchors and child seat anchors to pull free in a crash, leaving rear passengers without proper restraint. There is also a front seatbelt concern: a bolt securing the shoulder belt's height-adjustment fitting may not have been tightened correctly, which can prevent the belt from holding a front occupant properly in a crash.
