The 2008 Chrysler Town and Country has 3 recalls, all involving the airbag system: one can prevent airbags from deploying in a crash, one can cause an airbag to fire without warning, and one can send fragments into the cabin during deployment.

The airbag control unit on certain vehicles can corrode internally and stop functioning, meaning the airbags may not fire at all when needed in a collision. Separately from that, a water leak at the HVAC drain grommet can allow moisture to reach airbag system components, triggering an unintended deployment while the vehicle is in normal use and potentially injuring the occupant seated in front of the deploying bag. There is also a concern with the driver's airbag module itself: a loose or missing emblem in the center of the steering wheel, along with its securing hardware, can turn into projectiles when the airbag deploys, sending debris toward the driver's face and upper body.
