The 2009 Chrysler Town and Country has two recalls, both involving the airbag system: one where corroded airbag control units can prevent airbags from deploying in a crash, and one where a loose or missing steering wheel emblem can send fragments into the cabin during airbag deployment.
The corrosion issue affects the control unit that triggers airbag deployment, meaning the bags may not fire when needed. The steering wheel emblem concern is separate: the emblem itself, or the nuts securing it inside the driver airbag module, can break free and become projectiles if the airbag deploys.
