The 2010 Ferrari 458 has 5 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk where engine heat can deform rear wheelhouse and heat shield assemblies until they press against the exhaust system, igniting bonding adhesive and potentially causing a vehicle fire. A separate brake system recall covers fluid leaks that can cause partial or complete brake failure, raising the risk of a crash. On the structural side, the front trunk's secondary latch can fail to release when the vehicle is stationary. This matters beyond simple inconvenience: if a person is trapped inside the front trunk compartment, a stuck latch could prevent escape.
