Summary
The 2021 Ford Bronco has 22 recalls, the most serious involving drivetrain and airbag faults that can cause unexpected loss of drive power, vehicle rollaway, or airbags that fire without warning or fail to deploy in a crash.
On the drivetrain side, the transmission-to-transfer-case joint can wear and cause the vehicle to lose power to the wheels or roll away while parked without the parking brake applied. Airbag concerns cover both frontal and side impacts: the front passenger airbag vent can open too early during deployment, causing the bag to inflate improperly, and loose side impact sensors can trigger the side airbags unexpectedly or prevent them from deploying when needed. Seat and seatbelt issues form another cluster: front seat frame bolts can loosen and let the seat shift in a crash, and on five-door models, the front seatbelt latch plates can be difficult to reach, making it hard to buckle up. Rear shock absorbers equipped with Bilstein external reservoirs can corrode at the mounting flange and shed the reservoir onto the road. On four-door models, the right rear door child safety lock can fail to keep the door closed from inside while the vehicle is moving. Several recalls address rearview camera problems, including a lingering image that stays on screen after shifting out of reverse when in 4WD-Low, and a separate issue where the display module can overheat and shut down, preventing the camera image from appearing at all when backing up.
