The 2010 Ford Edge has 7 recalls, the most serious being defective front airbag inflators on both the driver and passenger sides that can explode and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.
Both the driver-side and passenger-side frontal airbag inflators are affected by this issue, which is linked to long-term exposure to heat and humidity. On the fuel system side, the fuel tank assembly can develop a leak that, near an ignition source, raises the risk of a fire. There is also a parts-related concern: certain aftermarket front wheel hub spindles sold as replacement parts have oversized mounting studs that prevent the wheel from seating correctly, which can cause the wheel to wobble or vibrate and increase the risk of a crash.
