The 2022 Ford F-59 has 4 recalls, with the most serious being two separate steering failures: the steering wheel can detach from the column entirely, and the intermediate steering shaft can separate from the gear box, either of which causes a complete loss of steering control.
The fuel system also carries a significant concern: paint along the fuel tank's weld seam can peel away, leaving bare metal that corrodes and develops a fuel leak. If that fuel contacts an ignition source, it creates a fire risk. On the brake side, the rear brake caliper attachment bolts may not have been torqued correctly at the factory, allowing the calipers to work loose over time. A caliper that shifts out of position can damage the wheel and cause a loss of tire pressure, or it can cut into the brake lines and cause fluid to leak out, reducing braking ability in either case.
