The 2022 Ford F-59 has 4 recalls, all rated at the same high severity level, with the most serious being two separate steering failures: a bolt securing the intermediate steering shaft can loosen and separate from the gear box, and the steering wheel attachment bolt can loosen or detach from the column, either of which can cause complete loss of steering control.
On the fuel side, paint along the fuel tank weld seam can peel and expose bare metal to corrosion, eventually producing a fuel leak that raises the risk of fire near an ignition source. There is also a brake concern: rear brake caliper attachment bolts may not be properly tightened, allowing the caliper to shift and damage the wheel or brake lines. A damaged wheel can cause sudden tire pressure loss, while a damaged brake line can leak fluid and reduce stopping power.
