The 2007 GMC Acadia has 4 recalls, the most serious being a faulty airbag control module that can prevent front airbags from deploying in a crash, and a liftgate that can drop unexpectedly and strike someone standing nearby.
The airbag issue is compounded by the warning lamp also potentially failing, meaning the system could be inoperative without any dashboard indication. The liftgate concern covers two related problems: the gas struts that hold the liftgate open can wear prematurely, and if they can no longer support the weight of the door, the liftgate can fall on a person below. There is also a wiper linkage recall affecting vehicles registered in northern and midwestern states where road salt is common; the linkage can corrode and fail, leaving the driver without wipers in conditions where they are needed most.
