The 2014 GMC Savana has 6 recalls, the most serious involving fire risks from two separate electrical issues: power window switches that can corrode, overheat, and melt, and unused rear HVAC blower motor wiring on cutaway models that can corrode and overheat.
On the safety equipment side, the front passenger airbag system may not adequately restrain an unbelted occupant in a lower-speed crash, and certain onboard fire extinguishers may fail to discharge properly when needed. Some vehicles were also shipped to final-stage manufacturers without a tire pressure monitoring system installed, meaning the driver would receive no warning if a tire became underinflated. There is also a compliance concern on certain incomplete vehicles with a 159-inch wheelbase related to the missing tire pressure monitoring hardware.
