The 2015 GMC Savana has 4 recalls, the most serious involving unused rear HVAC wiring on cutaway models where exposed connectors can corrode and overheat, raising the risk of a fire.
A second fire risk comes from the driver's power window switch, where liquid can seep in, cause corrosion, and create enough electrical resistance to start a fire. Certain vehicles also shipped with a fire extinguisher that may fail to discharge properly, leaving occupants without a working suppression tool if a fire breaks out. On the safety equipment side, some incomplete vehicles built for final-stage conversion were delivered without a tire pressure monitoring system, meaning the driver receives no warning if a tire loses pressure and the vehicle is driven on an underinflated tire.
