2021 GMC SIERRA 3500 Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2021 GMC Sierra 3500 has 2 recalls, the most serious involving the transmission control valve, which can cause the rear wheels to lock up suddenly and raise the risk of a crash. A prior repair attempt for this transmission issue did not fully resolve the problem on certain vehicles. On the cargo side, trucks equipped with power-unlatching tailgates have a recall for a gate-release switch that can short circuit when water gets inside, causing the tailgate to swing open unexpectedly while driving and dropping unsecured cargo onto the road.
