The 2021 GMC Terrain has 3 recalls, the most serious being a tire defect where tread can separate from the tire while driving, causing sudden loss of vehicle control and raising the risk of a crash.
The tread separation issue affects certain Hankook tires fitted to this vehicle, and prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the concern, which is why more than one recall addresses the same underlying problem. The third recall involves the rear-seat child seat LATCH anchor bars, which may have received too thick a powder coat finish during manufacturing. That buildup can prevent a child seat's clip from latching onto the anchor bar properly, leaving the seat unsecured and significantly more likely to move in a crash.
