The 2019 Honda HR-V has 7 recalls, the most serious being a faulty passenger seat occupant sensor that can cause the airbag to deploy unexpectedly during a crash, raising the risk of injury.
Multiple recalls address the low-pressure fuel pump inside the tank, which can fail and stall the engine while driving. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, which is why more than one recall covers this defect. On the brake side, rear brake caliper pistons may develop gas pockets that reduce braking performance, making it harder to slow or stop the vehicle. There is also a visibility concern: the rearview camera can fail to display an image when the engine is started with a key, and as with the fuel pump, an earlier repair attempt did not fully correct the problem, leading to a follow-up recall.
