The 2020 Honda HR-V has 5 recalls, the most serious being a faulty front passenger seat sensor that can cause the passenger airbag to deploy unintentionally in a crash, raising the risk of injury.
The fuel system also has a recall: the fuel pump can fail while driving, cutting engine power and increasing the chance of a crash. On the visibility side, the rearview camera can fail to appear on screen when the engine is started with a key, leaving the driver with reduced rear visibility while backing up. A prior repair attempt for this camera issue did not fully resolve the problem, which is why a second recall covering the same defect exists.
