The valve spring issue can also cause a sudden loss of drive power while moving, and in severe cases the breaking spring can punch a hole in the engine block, compounding both the crash and fire risks. These two issues describe overlapping defects that were filed separately but share the same core concern of engine failure and potential fire.
Three recalls affect occupant protection. The passenger seat sensor on vehicles equipped with dark premium suede seats may fail to detect that someone is sitting there, causing the front passenger airbag to deactivate and leaving that occupant without airbag protection in a crash.
