2018 Indian Chief Vintage Recalls & Complaints

The 2018 Indian Chief Vintage has 3 recalls, the most serious being an electrical fault that can allow the motorcycle to start on its own, raising the risk of carbon monoxide exposure if the bike is parked in an enclosed space.

Two recalls involve lighting. A failing electrical connection at the vehicle control module can cut power to the front lights, including the headlight, leaving the rider without forward illumination. Some motorcycles may also have been fitted with a European-market halogen headlight assembly rather than the correct US-market unit, which produces a different light pattern and can reduce how well the motorcycle is seen or how well the rider sees the road ahead.
