2018 Indian Chieftain Limited Recalls & Complaints

The 2018 Indian Chieftain Limited has 3 recalls, the most serious being an electrical fault that can allow the motorcycle to start on its own, building up carbon monoxide in an enclosed space like a garage.

Two recalls involve lighting. A failing electrical connection at the vehicle control module can cut power to the front lights, including the headlight, leaving the rider without forward illumination at night or in low visibility. Some motorcycles may also have been fitted with a European-market halogen headlight assembly rather than the correct US-market unit, which produces a different light pattern and can reduce how well the motorcycle is seen or how far ahead the rider can see.
