The 2015 Jaguar XF has 4 recalls, the most serious being a Takata airbag inflator on the passenger side that can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, risking serious injury or death.
A separate airbag concern affects the driver's side: the frontal airbag may be missing a chemical component needed for its second deployment stage, meaning it can inflate incorrectly in certain crashes and provide less protection than intended. Both airbag concerns are limited to certain vehicles based on build date or registration region. On the mechanical side, vehicles with the 2.0L engine have two additional concerns: a retaining bolt on the engine accessory drive can fail and cause a loss of power steering assist, making the car harder to steer, and underfloor fuel lines may chafe against the body or undershield and develop a leak that can ignite if it contacts a heat or spark source.
