The third-row buckle positioning can prevent rear passengers from properly latching their belts, leaving them unrestrained in a collision. The airbag issue stems from the clockspring, a rotary connector behind the steering wheel that can fail and cut the signal to the driver's frontal airbag, meaning it may not inflate when needed.
Two separate recalls cover rearview camera failures. In one case, a software error in the camera module causes the image to go blank when reversing. In the other, the park assist module software can suppress the rearview image in reverse as well. Both leave the driver with no rear visibility on the screen while backing up, raising the risk of striking something behind the vehicle.
A pair of exterior trim recalls round out the list.
